Dr. Gabriel Acién 2015
Graduated in Chemical Engineerng at the University of Granada, obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Almería (Spain) in 1996. He is currently professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Almería.
His research lines include waste biomass treatment and microalgae biotechnology. He has published more than 90 papers in international journals, 12 book chapters and has 8 patents extended at international level.
He is member of the International Society for Applied Phycology, the LatinoAmerican Society for Algal and Environmental Biotechnology, and editor of Algal Research and RELABIAA journals.
His major contributions on the microalgae biotechnology field are related with the improvement of photobioreactors design, scale-up of production systems and economic analysis of production processes.
